Friendship Fundamentals

For Any Participant Seeking To Develop New Social Skills.

Course for children aged 8-17 years old.

Age-appropriate mini-groups: 8-10, 11-13, 14-17 year old



Friendship Fundamentals Mini Course

 

Every person has something incredible to offer the world

They can assist and contribute to others

•

They can develop their leadership skills and expand their personal influence



Sessions 


Student Sessions: 

8  x Sessions 90 minutes of fun

interactive sessions for participant


Parent Sessions: 

2 x 90 minute sessions of training and support for parents


Course Outline


Session 1: Conversation Skills

Initiate and maintain engaging conversations.

Listen attentively to make others feel valued.

Discuss topics of mutual interest, ensuring both parties are engaged


Session 2: Building Helpful Foundations

Impact others' emotions positively.

Be a reliable friend, offering assistance and support.

Seize chances to lend a hand, recognising our inherent value


Session 3: Confidence Building

What are our principles? Which conflicts are worth engaging in?

Strive to be someone others appreciate spending time with.

Understand that our self-worth isn't determined by external opinions


Session 4: What Does it mean to be Healthy? 

Methods to maintain physical well-being for self-confidence.

Tools and techniques for projecting ourselves positively for smoother social interactions.

Striving for both physical and social wellness


Session 5: Respect: A Powerful Social Skill 

Techniques for communicating effectively and showing kindness.

Demonstrating care towards our family, friends and peers.

Understanding strategies for navigating challenging or embarrassing situations


Session 6: Bounce-Back 

Recover from rejection, difficult days, and moments of high anxiety.

Identify sources of support for discussing problematic friendships.

Employ tools for managing disappointments, friendship hurdles and social dilemmas


Session 7: Bully-Proof 

Tools for handling teasing or bullying situations.

Recognise the distinction between playful teasing and harmful behavior.

Engage in enjoyable solo activities when needed, or when faced with unkindness from others


Session 8: Friendship Building

Actions and words to establish and maintain friendships.

Genuine friends may engage with others occasionally.

It's acceptable for our friends to hold differing opinions from ours


After School

Sessions 


We've arranged our sessions to align with your young person's school schedule,  

eliminating midday disruptions. 


Sessions are conveniently held in the  afternoons or 

evenings to maintain routine for your young person

and  accommodate your schedule. 


Joining from Home 

on Zoom


Each time slot features a mini-group of students collaborating 

with our leaders facilitating teamwork discussions


Every session focuses on a different topic tackled collectively


This online community welcomes young people seeking to enhance their 

social skills and confidence.


Location

 

Your living room becomes your Zoom space 

No commuting!


No need to travel anywhere; simply utilise Zoom 

from the comfort of your own lounge room


NDIS Pricing $1910 

 

Designed to be approved for NDIS self-managed or

 plan-managed families, who typically claim through NDIS


To simplify the claiming process, you can consult with 

your plan manager or support coordinator


Families not covered by NDIS can also participate by self-funding


Fully Inclusive in the price

 All program sessions for your young person (8 sessions)

All parent training sessions (2 sessions)

All additional support, communication, etc. - everything included!

 

NDIS Funding Categories 

 

 NDIS funding is typically available 

for self-managed and plan-managed  NDIS plans. 


Consult your plan manager to understand what applies to your  

specific situation. 


Many families have found it useful to use these categories 

(or similar):

What if Participant 

needs to withdraw? 

 

Stop their course if needed

Switch to a different session if necessary

Attend ‘catch-up’ sessions for any missed classes

You won't be billed for the entire course if your young person has to withdraw


Almost always, our particpants find their rhythm and enjoy their sessions


If adjustments are needed, we can switch your young person to a different mini-group,

 change session times, or pair them with a different leader


We understand that life can be unpredictable, with events like sudden 

health issues or other challenges


Rest assured, if things don't work out (though they usually do)

 you'll only be billed for the part of the course participant participated in 

prior to withdrawal
